Cookie Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
This site uses analytics cookies. This page says exactly which ones, what they are for, how long they last, and how to refuse them. Nothing is set until you choose Accept All on the banner.
1. Categories of cookies on this site
- Strictly necessary: none. There is no login or basket to keep track of.
- Functional: no cookies, but see section 3 for the preferences stored on your own device.
- Analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These tell us which pages people read and where visitors come from.
- Marketing: the Facebook page widget, which loads Facebook's SDK and its cookies in order to display our page feed.
2. The third parties, named
- Google Analytics (Google LLC), measurement ID G-HGT5NG737M. Typically sets
_gaand_ga_<id>, each lasting about two years, to tell one browser from another and to group visits into sessions. - Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), project w649sz6ckd. Typically sets
_clck, lasting about one year, and_clsk, lasting about one day. Clarity records aggregate interaction patterns such as where people click and how far they scroll. - Facebook (Meta Platforms), the page plugin on our site. Typically sets
_fbp, lasting about three months. It only loads if you accept. - Netlify, our web host, which serves the pages and processes form submissions. It keeps ordinary server logs. Those are logs, not cookies.
Exact cookie names and lifetimes are set by those companies and can change without notice from us. The durations above are their documented defaults at the time of writing.
3. What is stored on your device without a cookie
Your accessibility and language choices are saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. They never leave your device and are never sent to us: sw-lang, sw-font-size, sw-high-contrast, sw-reduce-motion, sw-reading-guide, sw-link-highlight. Your cookie choice itself is stored the same way, as site_cookie_consent. None of these has an expiry date, because no server sets one; they remain until you change the setting or clear this site's data.
4. Consent, and how to change your mind
On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or reject. Until you press Accept All, no analytics or marketing script is loaded at all — not Google Analytics, not Clarity, not Facebook. Pressing Reject All means none of them ever load.
To change a previous answer, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again. Google Consent Mode is used, so if you accept and later withdraw, storage permissions are withdrawn with it.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal, treat it as equivalent to Reject All: we do not load analytics or marketing scripts for you, and we never sell or share personal information for advertising.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Every browser can block or delete cookies and clear stored site data, usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking them here costs you nothing except your saved accessibility preferences.
7. Changes and contact
If we add or remove an analytics or advertising service, this page is updated before that goes live, and the effective date above changes with it.
Questions: see the contact details on our privacy policy, or read the disclaimer and terms of service.
